ABOUT ABOUT

The voice is a common source of inspiration for violinists and conductors. Likewise, many vocalists harness an instrumental virtuosity in their performances. To find a musician who can seamlessly blend voice, instrument, and conducting is unheard of— until Dmitry Sinkovsky.

"Virtuosity, finesse, expression, imagination; nothing is missing from Sinkovsky." —Le Monde

A world-renown violinist from Russia, Dmitry Sinkovsky has an established career and won many awards, including first prize at the Telemann Competition in Magdeburg, Germany. Having founded a notable violin career, Sinkovsky chose in 2007 to pursue his talent as a countertenor.  Mr. Sinkovsky’s exceptional and naturally high voice has a magical quality with a wide range. He is also a conductor, completing the musical trifecta. Appointed the Baroque conductor of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra in 2016, Mr. Sinkovsky has also performed as guest conductor in the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony, Il Pomo d’Oro, and Brock Orchestra. Mr. Sinkovsky has an exclusive contract with French label Naive and plays a superb, Francesco Ruggeri, 1675, violin. He delights audiences with his ability to be conductor, countertenor, and virtuoso violinist. The Highlands is delighted to welcome back Mr. Sinkovosky and invites you to be astonished by this truly unique talent.
