ABOUT ABOUT

The Highlands Concert Series proudly presents its 2019-20 Season

September 15, 2019:  Avery Fisher Career Grant Awardee Kristin Lee, violin.

Kristin Lee joins us after opening the 2018-19 season of the San Francisco Symphony in duo-concerto with the inimitable Itzhak Perlman.  A 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant awardee and protégé of Mr. Perlman, Lee’s playing has been compared to that of a young Isaac Stern, possessing a full measure of expression, technique, and nuance.

We enthusiastically welcome Ms. Lee’s return to the Highlands where her outstanding performance in February 2018, led to an immediate invitation to open our 2019-20 season.

The Strad—-”How have I missed Kristin Lee? ...one of the most satisfying recitals I’ve heard in years.”

This remarkable quartet is hailed as “a triumph of ensemble playing”—- New York Times.

Since securing the Grand Prize at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the quartet has reached audiences from Carnegie Hall to London, and Sarajevo to Jerusalem, exploring the medium of the string quartet and its life-affirming potential with “profound understanding…depth of expression, and stunning technical astuteness”—-Deseret Morning News.   We are pleased to welcome the Fry Street Quartet for its Highlands debut.
